Our story
Born from frustration
We started Invoicely because every invoicing tool we tried was either too expensive, too complicated, or missing the one feature we actually needed. As freelancers ourselves, we spent more time wrestling with billing software than doing the work we loved.
So we built something different: a modern invoicing platform that uses AI to eliminate the tedious parts of getting paid. No more copy-pasting client details, manually calculating totals, or writing awkward payment reminder emails.
Invoicely is open source because we believe financial tools should be transparent. You can see exactly how your data is handled, contribute improvements, and self-host if you want to. We make money by offering premium AI features and team functionality — not by locking basic invoicing behind a paywall.
